日本住友出售在美马塞勒斯页岩气项目全部股份

据路透社9月8日东京报道，日本商社住友商事（Sumitomo Corp）周一在一份声明中表示，已出售其在美国马塞勒斯页岩气项目中的全部股份，但金额未披露。

住友公司于2010年从Rex Energy Corp手中购买了该项目30%的股份，该公司于2018年破产。目前，该项目70%的股权由PennEnergy Resources持有并运营。

住友发言人周二表示，"我们出售所持股份，是因为很难预测天然气的未来价格，且可能需要很长时间才能从该项目中获得利润贡献，即便价格回升，项目开发工作也可能无法按计划进行。"

Japan's Sumitomo sells all of its stake in U.S. Marcellus shale gas project

Japanese trading house Sumitomo Corp has sold all its stake in the Marcellus shale gas project in the United States for a undisclosed sum, it said on Monday in a statement.

Sumitomo bought a 30 percent stake in the project in 2010 from Rex Energy Corp, which went bankrupt in 2018. The project is now 70 per cent owned and operated by PennEnergy Resources.

"We have sold our stake as it is difficult to predict future prices of natural gas, and as it may take a long time to gain profit contribution from the project and its development may not proceed as planned even after the prices recover," a Sumitomo spokesman said on Tuesday.

He declined to disclose the buyer of the stake.

Sumitomo had booked an impairment loss on the stake in around 2015 when slumping oil and gas prices forced international energy companies and Japanese trading houses to write down the value of their assets.
