亨斯迈预计未来全球MDI产能不会出现大扩张

据安迅思休斯敦7月28日消息，亨斯迈公司高管在二季度业绩电话会议上表示，该公司预计今年或2021年全球范围内不会对二苯基甲烷二异氰酸酯(MDI)进行大规模扩能，目前的经济状况也不支持该行业增加产能。

亨斯迈公司表示，由于新型冠状病毒危机，全球MDI市场需求已经大幅下降，尽管消费水平在第二季度末有所改善。

亨斯迈公司预计，第三季度全球市场MDI需求将从第二季度初的低点继续回升，不过第三季度MDI和聚氨酯系统的销量预计同比仍将下降7%。

Major MDI capacity expansions not warranted for next few years - Huntsman

No major capacity expansions on methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) are expected this year or in 2021 and current economic conditions do not support additional capacity in the industry, Huntsman executives said in a Tuesday earnings call.

Huntsman said that demand for MDI has fallen significantly due to the coronavirus crisis, although consumption levels are improving as of the end of the second quarter.

Huntsman anticipates that demand will continue to pick up in the third quarter from the low points seen during the beginning of the second quarter, although sales of MDI and polyurethane systems are still expected to be 7% lower year on year in Q3.

“We may seek to grow our capacity incrementally over the next few years, but do not currently plan any major expansions,” CEO Peter Huntsman said.
